Inter-Provincial Power Championships

Written selection tests

  • An article on the format of competitions for 1983 and 1984

Poor results in the written tests seemed to dominate the Inter-provincial Powerflight Championships held at the end of April.
the minus marking system hindered competitors and those who were more cautious and said they ‘did not know’ the answer featured better than those who were more adveturous and guessed but go the answer wrong and were penalised.

In the Eastern Cape the highest written result was 33 percent and in the Western Cape , 60 percent. In the Transvaal and and Orange Free State, the written results were also below standard. A low number of entries was also reported.

Overall results were similar to those of last year and the following teams were selected for the Inter-provincials:

  • Eastern Cape
    • 1 Roy Waldek
    • 2 Ian Mc Jannet
    • 3 Mark Snelgar
    • Reserve: J Huddlestone

  • Western Cape
